Wetnose Homeless Animals Day

27 September

Wetnose Animal Rescue Centre is a “right to life” registered animal rehabilitation shelter who cares for animals which were neglected, abandoned or abused.

Wetnose is one of the charitable causes close to the CHS-heart and this year numerous Food & Beverage Events Management evenings have been dedicated to the charity.  All proceeds and raffle money collected during the Events Management evenings will be donated to the pups and kittens (and various other animals).  It was an honor to be asked to assist during the Wetnose Homeless Animals Day on Saturday, 27 September.

Student-volunteers and staff assisted at various stalls and stands during the day.

The property was buzzing with both two-legged and four-legged guests and there was more than enough animals in need of attention and spoiling.  Some students even adopted homeless pups on the day (to see more of the adoptions, check out the Facebook page).

With the sweltering heat of the day and the need to raise much-needed funds for Wetnose, the “Ice bucket challenge” was put forward.  Without hesitation CHS nominated their beloved Principal, Mrs Benita Bezuidenhout, for a donation.  Mrs Bezuidenhout was an absolute champ and made us proud!

A special thank you to Wetnose (Debbie & Cameron Herselman) for involving CHS in this wonderful event, we look forward to the Sweet Sixteen Birthday!
