Great Gatsby Events Management Evening

5 June

F Scott Fitzgerald captures the essence of a grand affair by writing “And I like large parties, they are so intimate. At small parties there isn’t any privacy.”
But none can be more intimate nor grand than a Great Gatsby inspired Event Management evening. Oh and what an affair it was!

Friends of CHS, and family alike, attended the event; even some support from fellow students.

The menu for the evening was inspired by 1920’s fare featuring Deconstructed Prawn Cocktail as Amuse Bouche, followed by the delicate Pork Phyllo Dumplings. The foxtrot of the night was the Chicken Supreme served with Wild Mushroom and Artichoke Risotto, Roast Vegetables and a Pomegranate Jus.
Dessert was decadent Rooibos Malva Pudding nestled in a pool of Orange Creme Anglaise, with home-made Raspberry and Honeycomb Ice Cream. And if that didn’t make your toes curl, the Reverse Truffles for Friandise definitely would.

The eclectic visual feast of the 2013-‎Baz Luhrmann rendition of Great Gatsby played in the background to set the mood.

The event was hosted in aid of Child Welfare Tshwane.
