Review: Vintage Flair Pop-Up Restaurant Event

18 September 2015

Sugar & spice & all things nice…

The Hospitality Management students chose a classic and dainty theme for their Vintage Flair Pop-Up Restaurant Event.  The theme was celebrated with beautiful paper butterflies and dainty decorations adorning the venue.

The venue was set in light colours and each person received wonderful gift box filled with a chocolate, creating a welcoming atmosphere and an evening to look forward to.

The Chef-lecturers and Professional Cookery students created wonderful dishes such as Bruschetta topped with Caramelized Onions, Rosa Tomatoes, Feta Cheese and Fresh Basil as a Canapé and for Starter-course a delicate Chargrilled Chicken strips, Roasted Butternut, Rocket, Grapefruit Dressing. Palate cleanser was an interesting twist on the traditional sorbet as Frozen White & Red grapes coated in Mint Frost was served. The Main Course was Fillet of Beef, Yorkshire pudding, Warm Potato and Baby Tomato Salad & Peppercorn Sauce.  The Dessert Course featuring a Spicy-White-Wine Poached Pear served with Vanilla Ice-Cream tasted as elegant as it was presented.

Thank you for everyone’s involvement in making this event a big success.  Congratulations HM Team!

The students opted for Wetnose Animal Centre as their charity of choice and we would like to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to Graham Kennard for supporting us and being active partners with The Capital Hotel School and Training Academy.
