Review: Charlie & The Chocolate Factory Pop Up Restaurant

6 October

Roald Dahl created the weird and wacky world of Charlie & The Chocolate Factory and Mr Willy Wonka had the following to say about this magical place:

“EATABLE MARSHMALLOW PILLOWS
LICKABLE WALLPAPER FOR NURSERIES
HOT ICE CREAMS FOR COLD DAYS
COWS THAT GIVE CHOCOLATE MILK
FIZZY LIFTING DRINKS
SQUARE SWEETS THAT LOOK ROUND”

Nothing is quite as it seems in this strange factory.  On Thursday, 6 October 2016, the campus was transformed into the infamous chocolate factory and sweets filled every nook and cranny of the venue.

The evening was in aid of Child Welfare Tshwane – our social responsibility partner.

Weird and wonderful food such as a starter of Salmon Gravadlax, Fennel Marshmallow & Lemon Curd was served.

The main course was paired with a home-made Chilli Chocolate Tortellini which added a twist to the traditional Beef Fillet dish.

Wonka Bars for dessert was a twist on the traditional chocolate mousse and buttons of chocolate filled with exotic flavours and presented with glitter and candyfloss.
