Review: Black & White Pop-Up Restaurant Event

11 July 2015

Black & White – with a POP of colour!

The Hospitality Management students pulled off an elegant event for the practical component of the Event Management module.

The venue was set with black linen and colourful table decor and spot lighting flooding the walls in different hues.

The Chef-lecturers and Professional Cookery students created wonderful dishes such as Smoked Salmon Blini as a Canapé and for Starter-course, presented a compilation of mini dishes Silky Cauliflower & Vanilla Soup, Grilled Fish of the Day with Crushed Baby Potatoes accompanied by Beurre Blanc Sauce. The Main Course was Pan-fried Chicken Breast served with a fragrant CousCous with Sundried Tomato and Feta and Sautéed Baby Spinach with a Creamy Lemon Veloute Sauce.  The grande finale (to add to the Black & White theme) was the Dessert Course featuring a Chocolate Brownie and Blondie served with Home-made Honeycomb Ice-Cream

The guests were treated to a variety of music and entertainment during the course of the night.  Everyone felt like (and looked) like “a million bucks” – thank you kindly to all the guests for supporting the students and making their event a huge success.  Well done HM Team!

The students opted for Child Welfare Tshwane as their charity of choice and we would like to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to Hanlie Delport for supporting us and being active partners with The Capital Hotel School and Training Academy.
