Presidential Inauguration on our doorstep

2014 Presidential Inauguration

24 May 2014

Staff and students of CHS have become “immune” to the chaos and commotion when dignitaries and “statesmen” (and woman) visit the Presidential Guesthouse across the road from the CHS-campus.

During the week leading up to the 2014 Presidential Inauguration there was a buzz of activity taking place around the city center. Four days leading up to the event the scaffolding made its way past the campus for all to see and the sirens announced the arrival of important people attending the event.

Countless assistants, volunteers and workers are required for the production which showcases the “newly” elected President of South Africa.

CHS provided the premises to three wonderful ladies; Erica, Sindi and Bridgette, for the preparation of approximately 4000 meal packs (consisting of a portion of chicken, slices of bread, two pieces of fruit and a soda), 100 “special” meals (consisting of a portion of fish, rice, grilled vegetables and salad), copious amounts of muffins and scones for breakfast.

Staff and students of CHS assisted with the preparation of lunch boxes, as well as provided a helping hand where required. THANK YOU to everyone involved in making this project such a massive success.
