Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal. -Henry Ford

Marlise Mostert graduated in 1994 from the Technicon Witwatersrand where she received her National Diploma in Catering Management.  After graduating she worked in a 5 Star guest house in Waterkloof for 5 years.  In 1999 she decided to spread her wings and worked overseas in Enlgand as a Chef de Partie for 2 years.  When she returned to South Africa, she was offered a position as Junior Sous Chef at the Sheraton Hotel in Pretoria where she worked for a year.

She then decided to go into the training part of Cheffing and moved to the beautiful town of Graaff-Reinet where she worked as a chef lecturer at the South African College for Tourism.  She spent 6 years at SACT, where she met her husband and got married.  In November 2007 they moved back to Pretoria, and she joined  The Capital Hotel School as Chef Lecturer in January 2008.

It was under her guidance that CHS’s professional cookery students have been very successful in chef competitions, including the Goldcrest Young Chef of the year in 2010; the South African Chefs Association Junior Top Chef 2010; first place in the world in the LG Team Competition in 2010 and third in the world in the same competition in 2011.05.10
