Heritage Day Braai function – 23 September 2014

If I had to ask you to describe a typical South African braai, what would be at the top of your list?

Some truly South African Braai Tunes, the smell of charcoal burning, the laughter of friends and family, and inevitably “chesa nyama” (grilled meat) comes to mind.

The Capital Hotel School and Training Academy hosted a truly South African Braai for Heritage Day and dined under the African sky on the outside area of the campus.  What an evening!  The grills were sizzling with an authentic meaty menu and hearty side dishes which catered for all sorts of South-African tastes.

The highlight of the menu was definitely the starter; Braaied Masala Beef Marrow Bones with Roasted Garlic, Gremolata and Bruschetta.  This lip-smacking delight was enjoyed by all.
