CHS receives new accreditation from CATHSSETA



SOUTH AFRICA, PRETORIA – 5 April 2017. Capital Hotel School and Training Academy, one of South Africa’s leading training institutions for Hospitality Management, Professional Cookery and the Culinary Arts, has been accredited to present two National Certificates; in Food and Beverage Services as well as Accommodation (“Housekeeping”) Services,  from CATHSSETA (Culture, Arts, Tourism, Hospitality & Sport Sector Education and Training Authority).


The accreditation allows Capital Hotel School corporate clients to be able to claim back skills levies for Skills Development Programmes conducted with the national qualifications and aligned unit standards. Individuals who enroll for the certificate qualifications can aim to complete a national qualification in one year.

The school has in fact previously been accredited by CATHSSETA to present the National Certificate in Food Preparation and Cooking (Qualification Code: 14111) and continues its accreditation process in its other areas. CATHSSETA, one of South Africa’s 21 registered SETAs, whose mandate it is to facilitate skills development within the Hospitality sector, through the disbursement of grants for learning programmes and monitoring of education and training as outlined in the National Skills Development Strategy (NSDS).
